R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, In commemoration of their golden wedding 
anniversary, Refugio and Sofia Morales of Lamesa are being honored 
at a special dinner and ceremony on June 4, 2005, hosted by their 
family at their church home, Freedom and Hope Ministries; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Morales were joined in matrimony on May 
10, 1955, in a ceremony held in Raymondville, where both were 
raised, and they have lived in the Lamesa and Welch area for much of 
their married life; and
	WHEREAS, A Sinton native, Mrs. Morales has been a dedicated 
homemaker throughout her marriage, while Mr. Morales, born in 
Durango, Mexico, has farmed for 42 years; the couple's mutual 
interests include gardening and working on their home; and
	WHEREAS, Treasured by their family and circle of friends, Mr. 
and Mrs. Morales take great pride in their children, Mary Morales, 
Andrew Morales, Robert and Judy Morales, Rudy and Lucy Ortiz, Tony 
and Flo Morales, Elizabeth Morales, and Noami Morales, as well as 
their 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, For half a century, Refugio and Sofia Morales have 
embraced the myriad joys and challenges of marriage and parenthood, 
and they are truly deserving of special recognition on this 
significant milestone in their union; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Refugio and Sofia Morales on the 
occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them 
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for them as an expression of high regard by the Texas House 
of Representatives.
