R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Michael Cedric Jeffery of Boy Scouts of America in 
Houston has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this 
accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and
	WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant 
honor, bestowed on only a fraction of those who enter the scouting 
movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, 
Mr. Jeffery earned the requisite 21 merit badges and successfully 
completed an Eagle Scout project, which involved organizing and 
building two benches to furnish the newly remodeled foyer and 
library addition for Sherwood Elementary School; and
	WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Mr. Jeffery attends Stratford 
High School, where he is a member of the National Honor Society; he 
has been accepted at Brigham Young University and plans to study 
civil engineering; and
	WHEREAS, Son of proud parents Mel and Julie Jeffery, this 
fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability 
throughout his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration 
of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank that 
scouting offers; and
	WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Jeffery's dedication to excellence and 
his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy 
to stand among scouting's elite, and it is most appropriate that he 
be honored at this time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Cedric Jeffery on becoming 
an Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued 
success and happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Jeffery as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
