H.R. No. 2053


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Richard Alejandro Longoria II is an outstanding Texan who truly exemplifies the finest qualities of youth today, and he is indeed deserving of special recognition; and WHEREAS, A native of South Texas, Mr. Longoria attended James "Nikki" Rowe High School, earning an International Baccalaureate diploma and graduating cum laude as a National Hispanic Scholar in 2003; and WHEREAS, Mr. Longoria is currently a junior at The University of Texas at Austin, where he is working toward a double major in government and economics and minoring in Spanish and business; and WHEREAS, This dedicated and active citizen is a valued member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honors fraternity and of the Texas Wranglers, a service organization that provides volunteer aid for Easter Seals of Central Texas, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Austin Adaptive Sports, and the Salvation Army; and WHEREAS, Since June 2004, Mr. Longoria has worked in the office of State Representative Pena and he hopes to attend law school and to one day become a public servant to the citizens of Texas; and WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, he has enjoyed the loving support of his proud parents, Richard Alejandro and Rosalva Longoria, his siblings, Robert Anthony Longoria and Rebecca Ann Longoria, and his extended family; and WHEREAS, Representative Aaron Pena has justly recognized Richie Longoria by introducing this resolution in his behalf during the Regular Session of the 79th Texas Legislature; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby commend Richard Alejandro Longoria II for his many accomplishments and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Longoria as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
