H.R. No. 2082


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of James A. Hall of Woodway on May 3, 2005, at the age of 71, has deeply saddened his family and friends; and WHEREAS, A Seguin native and 1952 graduate of his hometown high school, Mr. Hall moved in 1966 to the Waco area, where he enjoyed a successful 30-year career with General Tire as a district salesman; following his retirement from that company, he was employed locally with Bill Harris General Tire and Kendrick Tire Company; and WHEREAS, He married Frances L. Schneider in 1953 in Seguin, and the pair reared a loving family together; becoming a widower in 1996, he was fortunate to find love a second time and married Ruth Cook Jackson in 2001, becoming a resident of Woodway at that time; and WHEREAS, This highly regarded individual worked in behalf of his community through his church, Speegleville United Methodist, as well as the Heart O' Texas Fair Scholarship Committee, McLennan County Junior Livestock Show, and Sons of Hermann Lodge; and WHEREAS, Over the course of his lifetime, James Hall shared his devotion and friendship with many people, and he will long be remembered as a caring husband, father, grandfather, neighbor, and civic volunteer; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life and achievements of James A. Hall and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Ruth Jackson Hall; to his children, Rodney and Edye Gillen-Hall, Cindy and Eddie Coats, Stephen and Cheryl Hall, Clayton and Charleen Hall, Cathy and Jody Wood, Janna and Scott Short, and Scott and Audra Hall; to his stepchildren, Curtis and Maria Jackson, Wendell and Lynna Jackson, Phillip and Leah Jackson, Rick and Melissa Wilson, and Wanda Jackson and friend, Janice Gregory; to his 21 grandchildren and 12 step-grandchildren; to his sister, Juanita Luensmann and her husband, Arthur; and to all who mourn the passing of this beloved gentleman; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of James A.
