R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Michelle Lorio of El Paso has been named the
2004-2005 Teacher of the Year for Fabens Middle School, providing a
welcome opportunity to acknowledge her many contributions; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at El Paso, Ms.
Lorio began her career in education in 1992 as a third-grade teacher
at Parkland Elementary School; three years later, she joined the
staff of Fabens Middle School and has since taught gifted and
talented sixth-graders and language arts, inspiring in countless
students a true love of learning; and
WHEREAS, In addition to providing innovative instruction,
she has further benefited her school by serving on its inclusion
team and as a mentor to her colleagues; her record of educational
excellence has earned her a Teacher of the Month award as well as
Who's Who Among American Teachers honors; and
WHEREAS, Demonstrating unwavering commitment to the students
of Fabens Middle School, Michelle Lorio embodies the highest ideals
of her profession, and it is indeed a pleasure to honor her at this
time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Michelle Lorio on being named the
2004-2005 Teacher of the Year for Fabens Middle School and extend to
her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Lorio as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
