R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Children are the Lone Star State's most precious resource, and those dedicated professionals who seek to nurture and educate tomorrow's leaders are truly deserving of our admiration and gratitude; and WHEREAS, Gail L. Gonzales of El Paso is one such individual, and her commitment to excellence in education is evidenced by her selection as the 2004-2005 Risinger Primary School Teacher of the Year; and WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of New Mexico, Ms. Gonzales has also completed post-graduate work at The University of Texas at El Paso, and has further pursued her education through the University of St. Thomas and the Institute of Children's Literature; and WHEREAS, Before her tenure at Risinger, she taught at several other schools in the Fabens, Socorro, and El Paso Independent School Districts as well as in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the depth of her classroom experience is reflected in her approach to teaching; and WHEREAS, Ms. Gonzales has taught for more than 35 years, and she continues to make a positive impact on the lives of her students each day, encouraging her third-graders to progress in their abilities and contributing greatly to their self-esteem; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Gail L. Gonzales on being named the 2004-2005 Teacher of the Year at Risinger Primary School in Fabens and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important work; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Gonzales as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
