R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Children are the Lone Star State's most precious resource, and those dedicated professionals who seek to nurture and educate tomorrow's leaders are truly deserving of our admiration and gratitude; and WHEREAS, Maria G. Liming of El Paso is one such individual, and her commitment to excellence in education is evidenced by her selection as the 2004-2005 Fabens Primary School Teacher of the Year; and WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at El Paso, Ms. Liming has received training in bilingual education and in teaching English as a second language, and her range as a teacher is matched only by the diligence and care she takes with the instruction of her young charges; and WHEREAS, Deeply involved in all aspects of primary education, she has shared her expertise at the state level as a member of a Texas Education Agency committee formed to review the TAKS reading test; and WHEREAS, Ms. Liming has taught for more than 15 years, and she continues to make a positive impact on her third-grade students each day, inspiring a love of learning in her pupils; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Maria G. Liming on being named the 2004-2005 Teacher of the Year at Fabens Primary School and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important work; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Liming as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
