R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Justin Munoz, a junior at Academy High School in
Kingsville, won the first-place medal for chemistry in the 1A
Division at the 2005 UIL State Academic Meet, and this achievement
is most deserving of special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Munoz placed fourth overall in the science
division, and his success helped the Academy High School science
team capture the team state championship in science; he
demonstrated tremendous dedication in his preparation for the
contest, and his efforts were justly rewarded; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary student who is active in numerous
extracurricular activities, including varsity baseball, the
National Honor Society, and the student council, Mr. Munoz is
diligently pursuing his lifelong dream of graduating as class
valedictorian or salutatorian; he also hopes to begin his college
career with enough college-level credits to be considered a
sophomore; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Munoz has received numerous academic awards
during his high school career and has been included in the annual
Who's Who Among American High School Students; a former class
president, he has received nominations for the HOBY Leadership
Conference and the GOLD Leadership Conference, earned the
Principal's Award, and qualified for state in cross-country; and
WHEREAS, A source of tremendous pride to his parents, Hector
and Lisa Munoz, Justin Munoz has already achieved great things in
his young life, and he will undoubtedly continue to excel in all his
future endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Justin Munoz on winning a
first-place medal in chemistry at the 2005 UIL State Academic Meet
and extend best wishes to him for continued success and happiness;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Munoz as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
