R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Derrick L. Reescano of Romayor won three medals at
the 2005 UIL state track and field championships in Austin, and he
is most deserving of special recognition for his outstanding
performance; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Hardin High School, Mr. Reescano
captured gold medals in the 400-meter run and the triple jump; he
also earned a silver medal in the long jump, a testament to his
superior athletic ability; and
WHEREAS, This talented teen was selected to participate in
the Adidas Gold West Track Meet in Sacramento, California, where he
will undoubtedly represent Hardin High School with dignity and
class as he pursues additional medals; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Reescano is the son of Mrs. Lola Wright, a
graduate of Hardin High School and a member of the school's
three-time state championship basketball team; his impressive
lineage has no doubt helped him to excel in his athletic pursuits;
and
WHEREAS, Winning a state championship is the goal of all
student-athletes, and Mr. Reescano may take great pride in his
state championship victory for years to come, drawing inspiration
from his accomplishments as he undertakes future challenges; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Derrick L. Reescano for his
impressive performance at the 2005 UIL state track and field
championships and extend best wishes to him for continued success
in all his endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Reescano as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
