H.R. No. 2104


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the profound sadness felt by the family and friends of Marcella C. Ridgway of Bedford, who passed away on February 16, 2005, at the age of 66; and WHEREAS, Born on February 27, 1938, Mrs. Ridgway was raised in Topeka, Kansas, and attended Hayden Catholic High School and Washburn University; after raising eight children, she and her beloved husband, Bill, settled in Bedford; and WHEREAS, Although her first love was truly her family, she also gave much of her time and soul to Trinity High School, where she worked for 13 years in the library and accounting and registration offices; she achieved many professional distinctions, including serving as class sponsor, as president of the Paraprofessionals Organization of Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD, as a member of the unity and improvement committees, and as a mentor for numerous school programs; she was also appointed to the Texas State Committee on Teacher Recertification; and WHEREAS, Always making her students' needs a top priority, Mrs. Ridgway often attended sporting events, choir presentations, band competitions, and one-act plays; before her tenure at Trinity, she was regional manager for Prime Hotel Corporation, and she had been a college recruiter and trainer for Embassy Suites; and WHEREAS, A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Marcy Ridgway was selfless in her devotion to her family and students, and while she will be greatly missed, the legacy of character, dedication, and warmth that she leaves behind will not soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Marcy Ridgway and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband, Bill Ridgway; to her children, Keith and Sandy Belden, Michelle and Michael Moritz, James Joseph and Julie Belden, Geri Ann and Hector Vasquez, John William and Debbie Ridgway, Jackie and Charles Watkins, John Michael and Glenna Ridgway, and Marcia Kay; to her grandchildren, Robby, Joey, Keith, Whitney, Ryan, Jessie, Rene, Andrew, Devin, Laura, Michael, Christopher, Katie, and Rylee; to her great-grandchild, Alexis; to her brothers, Dean, Adam, Jay, and Peter; to her sisters, Maureen and Sylvia; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Marcy Ridgway.
