R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Each year, AFS Intercultural brings teachers from 
foreign lands to the United States for a year to promote cultural 
understanding with the goal of helping participants to develop and 
share the knowledge and skills needed to create a just and more 
peaceful world; and
	WHEREAS, Ersin Haspolatli, an English teacher of 4th through 
8th grade students in Yalova, Turkey, came to the Lone Star State in 
August 2004 as part of the AFS program, and during his time in 
Austin he contributed to the worthy goals of this endeavor by 
sharing his insights and exchanging viewpoints with the Texans he 
met; and
	WHEREAS, Now a visiting teacher in Albany, New York, Mr. 
Haspolatli will soon return to Turkey with a deeper understanding 
of the United States, its culture, and its people; and
	WHEREAS, Though his many new friends in the United States are 
sorry to bid him farewell, Mr. Haspolatli carries with him their 
shared aspiration for a brighter tomorrow for people the world 
over; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend Ersin Haspolatli for his participation 
in the AFS Intercultural program and extend to him sincere 
appreciation for his efforts to increase international 
understanding and harmony; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Haspolatli as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
