R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Ruth Lee of Farmers Branch has devoted a great deal 
of time to supporting her community's crime watch program, and her 
efforts in this endeavor have had a positive and lasting effect on 
many neighborhoods in Farmers Branch; and
	WHEREAS, Mrs. Lee has been affiliated with the program since 
1982 and served as director from 1985 until 1993; at the behest of 
the mayor and the city council, she took the reins again in 2001 and 
has reenergized this vital program with her strong organizational 
and management skills; and
	WHEREAS, During her leadership tenure, Mrs. Lee has initiated 
numerous projects to help strengthen bonds within the community; 
her organization created a quarterly bulletin and presented 
quarterly programs on the local television station; the group also 
sponsored a successful Christmas drive to benefit area youngsters 
and has encouraged residents to support events such as "National 
Night Out"; and
	WHEREAS, Ruth Lee is a valued member of her community, 
demonstrating concern for her fellow citizens and a positive vision 
of the future, and she is most worthy of special recognition for her 
countless hours of dedicated service to the residents of Farmers 
Branch; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby honor Ruth Lee for her many years of service to 
her community and extend best wishes to her for continued success 
and happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mrs. Lee as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
