R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Elia Gonzalez of
Mission were shocked and saddened by her sudden passing on January
3, 2005, and we join them in mourning the loss of a remarkable
woman; and
WHEREAS, Born July 25, 1962, in McAllen, Elee Mae Gonzalez
was well loved for her warm nature and generosity of spirit, and she
took great satisfaction in helping others whenever possible; and
WHEREAS, She herself derived great sustenance from her own
close-knit and loving family, and her devoted presence at the
center of her home daily enriched the lives of her husband, Armando
Gonzalez, and their daughters, Jina Abigail and Janiva Elisa; and
WHEREAS, Her gifts of empathy and gentle guidance extended
far beyond her own household, and countless students at elementary,
junior high, and high schools in the area benefited from her work as
an instructional aide and volunteer; and
WHEREAS, Although her absence will be deeply felt for many
years to come, we may take comfort from the fact that her matchless
spirit will continue to shine on brightly in the hearts of all those
fortunate enough to have known her; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Elia Gonzalez and
extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
husband, Armando Gonzalez; to her daughters, Jina Abigail and
Janiva Elisa Gonzalez; and to her other relatives and many friends;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas House
of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Elia
Gonzalez.
