R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS,  Dr. Linda Wade, superintendent of the Harlingen 
Consolidated Independent School District, was named the 2005 
Superintendent of the Year by the Region One Education Service 
Center; and
	WHEREAS, This well-deserved tribute honors an administrator 
who has served in the field of education for 32 years; starting as a 
teacher in Appleton City, Missouri, she joined Harlingen schools in 
1987 and became superintendent in 2001; in her position, Dr. Wade 
works tirelessly to meet the demands of a student population 
totaling more than 17,000 from more than 20 campuses, leading a 
coordinated effort to provide a high-quality education for each 
student; and
	WHEREAS, Over the course of her illustrious career, Dr. Wade 
has distinguished herself as an administrator of the highest 
caliber whose contributions to public education have benefited 
thousands of young people in the Rio Grande Valley; now, therefore, 
be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Linda Wade on receiving the 
2005 Region One Education Service Center Superintendent of the Year 
award and extend to her best wishes for  continued success with her 
important work; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Dr. Wade as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
