R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and friends of
Frank Perez, Sr., of Houston, who passed away on May 16, 2005, at
the age of 68; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in the Bayou City's East End
neighborhood, Mr. Perez attended Milby High School, where he was a
member of the state champion basketball teams of 1954 and 1956; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan was an invaluable member of his
community and had retired from a career with the Houston Police
Department; he drew great strength and sustenance from his faith,
serving the United with Christ Temple for many years as a deacon,
and enjoyed watching sports, fixing things, and spending time with
his grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Tico Perez will long be remembered for his devotion
to his family and community, and although he will be sorely missed,
his legacy will live on in the hearts of those whose lives he so
richly blessed with his generosity and friendship; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Frank Perez, Sr., and
extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
Mary Helen; to his sons, Frank, Freddie, Fernando, John Ray, and
Felix, and their wives; to his sisters, Helen, Janie, Alice,
Gloria, Norma, and Roberta; to his 14 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Frank
Perez, Sr.
