R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, In 2004, Justin Stephenson of Midland became a third-generation Eagle Scout, attaining the same prestigious rank his father, Mike, and his grandfather, Rod, earned as members of Boy Scout Troop 152; and WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor, bestowed on only a fraction of those who enter the scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, Justin, a student at Robert E. Lee High School, earned the requisite 21 merit badges and successfully completed an Eagle Scout project at Casa de Amigos; and WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his scouting career, and he undoubtedly inherited his exceptional work ethic from his father and grandfather, who earned their Eagle Scout badges in 1982 and 1956, respectively; and WHEREAS, The Stephenson family's dedication to excellence and perseverance in the pursuit of their goals has proven them worthy to stand among scouting's elite and has shaped three generations of community leaders; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby honor the Stephenson family for achieving three generations of Eagle Scouts and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the family as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
