R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and friends of
Stan Reinhard of Brady, who passed away on May 12, 2005, at the age
of 58; and
WHEREAS, Born to Edmund and Ruby Reinhard on October 4, 1946,
in Guadalupe County, Mr. Reinhard earned a bachelor's degree in
range management at Southwest Texas State University; he was
commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force
and completed assignments at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi
and Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany; and
WHEREAS, Following his return to civilian life in 1972, Mr.
Reinhard began a 13-year tenure with the USDA Soil Conservation
Service, serving as the district conservationist in San Saba and
Mason; he then worked as a real estate agent for several years
before accepting a position as a technician with the Hickory
Underground Water Conservation District in 1991; he was promoted to
manager and served in an advisory position in water planning; in
2001, he was elected to represent Texas on the National Ground Water
Board and actively fought for the conservation of natural resources
and property owners' rights; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan was a valued member of his
community and gave of his time and talents to a number of
professional, civic, and religious organizations; a board member
and vice chair of the Heart of Texas Hope House and an elder at the
New Covenant Fellowship church, he lent his expertise to the Range
Management Society, the McCulloch County Extension Service
Committee, and the McCulloch Industrial Foundation; he was also
active with the Heart of Texas Emmaus community and a longtime
member of its "Good Ol' Boys Under God's Construction" reunion
group; and
WHEREAS, Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Stan
Reinhard will long be remembered for his love of his family,
community, and country, and although his presence will be sorely
missed, his legacy will live on in the hearts of those whose lives
he so richly blessed with his warmth and friendship; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Stan Reinhard and
extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife of
38 years, Elaine Herrmann Reinhard; to his children, Steven
Reinhard and his wife, Shan, Daniel Reinhard and his wife,
Jennifer, and Lisa Bradshaw and her husband, Rusty; to his
grandchildren, Sinjin Geoff, Brent, and Bryan; to his
mother-in-law, Evelyn Herrmann; to his brother-in-law, Dennis
Herrmann and his wife, Susan; to his sisters-in-law, Betsy Herrmann
and Arlene Marshall and her husband, Steve; to Gerry, Karen, and
Jason Lafantasie, and Sammy, Rosie, Samantha, Anyssa, and Nathan
Aguirre; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Stan
Reinhard.
