R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, October 29, 2005, is a special day indeed for the
Houston community of Spring Branch, as proud residents gather for
the third annual Spring Branch Parade and Festival, and this
memorable occasion is an apt opportunity to reflect on the town's
singular stature in the Lone Star State; and
WHEREAS, Spring Branch was first settled in the early 19th
century by German farmers who embodied the values of hard work and
cooperation that continue to characterize Spring Branch today; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception, Spring Branch has grown to
become a lively modern community, with involved citizens who are
committed to ensuring the area's continued dynamism; and
WHEREAS, The theme of this year's parade is "A Salute to Our
Troops," and in recognizing the contributions made by members of
the armed services, local residents will celebrate their patriotic
love of country even as they affirm their affection for their
hometown; and
WHEREAS, In commemorating their colorful past, the people of
Spring Branch are merely underscoring the bright promise of their
future, and it is indeed fitting at this time to recognize this
outstanding community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize October 29, 2005, as Spring Branch Day
and extend to area residents best wishes for an enjoyable and
successful Spring Branch Parade and Festival.
