H.R. No. 2201R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives would like to congratulate Jonathan Ardoyno on his accomplishments throughout his life and commend him on his most recent achievement of graduation from the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired; and WHEREAS, Jonathan Ardoyno was born on November 18, 1982, to his parents, David and Janet Ardoyno in Taylor County, and was raised in Abilene, where Jonathan was born visually impaired with cerebral palsy; and WHEREAS, Despite these obstacles, Jonathan has accomplished many goals and has become a valuable and productive member of his community, in both Austin and Abilene; and WHEREAS, Jonathan attended Cooper High School in Abilene and Southern Hills Church of Christ, and as a member of his church and community he gave his time to help others of his home city by volunteering at the Sears Methodist Nursing Home and the Sears Methodist Retirement Center; he also participated in the Make a Difference Trip as well as several other volunteer activities in and around Abilene; and he currently works at radio station KBCY, sharing a disc-jockey job; and WHEREAS, While in attendance at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Austin, Jonathan was an active member in the community and still found the time to be a productive student working toward his goal in the area of communications; he was an independent student who has made remarkable progress toward his career in communication and plans to continue his education in that field; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the 79th Texas Legislature offer their congratulations to Jonathan Ardoyno for his graduation from the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired and commend him on his work in the Abilene and Austin communities as well as for being a true Texas citizen; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Jonathan Ardoyno and his parents as an expression of high regard for all that Jonathan has done and will do for Texas.
