R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Cesar Garza and Judy Ann Anzaldua have been named valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of the 2005 graduating class at La Joya High School; and WHEREAS, Earning the right to call oneself valedictorian or salutatorian requires not only intellect and aptitude, but four years of dedication to the highest academic standards; these students must display a firm understanding of the entire curriculum, from math and science to language arts and social studies, while demonstrating an unwavering commitment to educational excellence; and WHEREAS, Such exemplary young people serve as role models and lead by example; the competition for these coveted honors is often fierce, although the spirit of the rivalry remains rooted in a tradition of goodwill, and the rewards of the countless hours of study and preparation are myriad; and WHEREAS, Mr. Garza and Ms. Anzaldua have earned the respect and admiration of their friends and classmates at La Joya High School, and as they embrace a future bright with promise, it is most fitting that these outstanding scholars be commended for their exceptional achievement; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Cesar Garza and Judy Ann Anzaldua on being named the 2005 valedictorian and salutatorian at La Joya High School and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success in all their endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for these students as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
