R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times, loving moments, and meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and friends of Rudy Robles, Sr., who passed away on December 19, 2004, at the age of 76; and WHEREAS, Born in Del Rio on July 19, 1928, Mr. Robles served with distinction in the Korean Conflict and then returned home to work in the family plumbing business; he expanded the successful business by acquiring the Roto-Rooter franchise in 1984 and the Culligan Water enterprise in 1985; a man of diverse business interests, he also co-founded and chaired the board of Sunset Funeral Homes in El Paso and Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery in Del Rio; and WHEREAS, He was an avid fisherman and deer hunter, but his greatest joy was derived from his family, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, A man of great common sense and strong values that he passed down to his family, Mr. Robles was truly a blessing in the lives of all who knew him, and his memory will be forever cherished by those who shared in the warmth of his love and friendship; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Rudy C. Robles and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife of 53 years, Elia Diaz Robles; to his sons, Rudy D. Robles, Jr., and his wife, Bea, Rick D. Robles and his wife, Gilda, and Robert T. Robles and his wife, Aimee; to his daughters, Linda R. Cardenas and her husband, Ruben, and Jo Ann R. Perez and her husband, Enrique; to his 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rudy Robles, Sr.
