R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Carla Velasco has served as a special education teacher with La Joya Independent School District since December 2001; and WHEREAS, Ms. Velasco is a graduate of The University of Texas-Pan American, where she earned a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies with a minor in special education; she has greatly benefited her students with her professionalism and care, making a positive difference in each of their lives; and WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, this fine teacher has enjoyed the love and support of her parents, Ramiro and Dora Luz Velasco, as well as that of her siblings, Jorge and Dora; and WHEREAS, Those individuals who devote their time and talents to the education of children are truly deserving of every Texan's gratitude, and through her commitment to her students, Carla Velasco is benefiting her entire community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby commend Carla Velasco for her exemplary service as a special education teacher with the La Joya ISD and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Velasco as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
