R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Brittany McCoy of San Antonio has been selected to
participate in the Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP) in 2005,
and this distinction is an apt reflection of this exceptional
student's diligence and dedication; and
WHEREAS, JAMP was created by the 77th Texas Legislature to
encourage highly qualified, economically disadvantaged young
people to prepare for and succeed in medical school; and
WHEREAS, An undergraduate at The University of Texas at
Austin, Ms. McCoy will embark on the first phase of the program by
attending an academic enrichment program at a Texas medical school
this summer, and this exposure to the demanding and rewarding
vocation of medicine will be a valuable asset in pursuing her
career; and
WHEREAS, Those individuals who commit themselves to the
health professions are indeed deserving of our gratitude and
admiration, and we wish Ms. McCoy well as she embarks on this
exciting path; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Brittany McCoy on her selection as
a participant in the Joint Admission Medical Program and extend to
her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. McCoy as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
