R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Kurt Meachum, legislative director for the office of
State Representative Pete Gallego, has been an invaluable asset to
the representative and his staff during the 79th Legislative
Session; and
WHEREAS, A veteran of four legislative sessions, Mr. Meachum
has worked closely with the House Democratic Caucus and previously
served as a clerk for the House Committee on State Affairs; he holds
an undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University and a
master's degree in business administration from The University of
Texas at Austin, and his valuable insights into legislative issues
have been beneficial to ensuring the best interests of many Texas
citizens; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Meachum has devoted much time and energy to
supporting a number of children's programs, including the Inner
Community Experience Program; he has also had the opportunity to
coach youth soccer, an experience that proved fun and rewarding;
and
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, he has received the love and
support of his wife and best friend, Amy, whose loyalty and
understanding have been instrumental in his success; and
WHEREAS, By offering unique perspectives on issues and
contributing countless hours of hard work, Kurt Meachum has ensured
that the constituents of House District 74 and the citizens of the
Lone Star State are well represented, and he is indeed deserving of
special recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Kurt Meachum for his contributions to
the office of State Representative Pete Gallego during the 79th
Legislative Session and extend best wishes to him for continued
success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Meachum as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
