R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Santiago Olivarez and Josefa Villarreal Olivarez of Rio Grande City are celebrating a special milestone in their lives together with the arrival of their 50th wedding anniversary on June 11, 2005; and WHEREAS, The loving couple were married on June 11, 1955, at Immaculate Conception Church in Rio Grande City; when they first met, they lived in different cities, but the smitten groom-to-be often traveled from Corpus Christi to visit his new love; and WHEREAS, After they were married, Mr. and Mrs. Olivarez moved to Edinburg and gained employment in automobile repair and accounting, respectively; eventually, Mr. Olivarez applied his entrepreneurial spirit to his own business and began operating full-service gasoline stations around the city; during the 1990s, they retired to Rio Grande City, where they first met and where they now spend their time with family, friends, and other members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; and WHEREAS, For five decades, Chago and Josie Olivarez have nurtured a supportive relationship built on mutual devotion and respect, and their enduring union remains an inspiration to all those who have shared in its joy; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Santiago and Josefa Villarreal Olivarez on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Olivarez as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
