A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the emergency service fee rate in certain 9-1-1 emergency communication districts. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subsection (c), Section 772.214, Health and Safety Code, is amended to read as follows: (c) The rate of the fee may not exceed six [three] percent of the monthly base rate charged a service user by the principal service supplier in the participating jurisdiction. SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to a fee that is imposed on or after the effective date of this Act. A fee that is imposed before the effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect when the fee was imposed, and that law is continued in effect for that purpose. SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
