A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to permissible uses of money in the comprehensive rehabilitation fund. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subsection (b), Section 111.060, Human Resources Code, is amended to read as follows: (b) The comptroller, on requisition by the commission, shall draw a warrant on the fund for the amount specified in that requisition for a use authorized in Section 111.052, except that the total of warrants issued during a state fiscal year may not exceed the amount appropriated for that fiscal year. At the end of each state fiscal year, the comptroller shall transfer to the General Revenue Fund any unexpended balance in the comprehensive rehabilitation fund that exceeds $1.5 million [$500,000]. SECTION 2. Subsection (d), Section 111.060, Human Resources Code, is repealed. SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
