A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the training required for certain county jailers. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 1701.310, Occupations Code, is amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: (f) The commission by rule may require a person appointed as a county jailer in a county with a population of 500,000 or more to complete 160 hours of commission-approved training not later than the second anniversary of the date the person was appointed. The 160 hours of training may include the preparatory training program required by Subsection (a). SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
