A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the repeal of the requirement that the creation of the
Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 387 be confirmed by a
specific date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 14, Chapter 1382, Acts of the 77th
Legislature, Regular Session, 2001, is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 14. EFFECTIVE DATE[; EXPIRATION DATE]. [(a)] This
Act takes effect September 1, 2001.
[(b) If the creation of the district is not confirmed at a
confirmation election held under Section 10 of this Act before
September 1, 2006, this Act expires on that date.]
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
