                                                                  S.B. No. 1147




AN ACT

relating to the appointment of visiting associate judges.                     
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 201.113, Family Code, is amended by 
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
	(d)  Section 2252.901, Government Code, does not apply to the 
appointment of a visiting associate judge under this section.
	SECTION 2.  Section 201.208, Family Code, is amended by 
adding Subsection (e) to read as follows:
	(e)  Section 2252.901, Government Code, does not apply to the 
appointment of a visiting associate judge under this section.
	SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this 
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this 
Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
