A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the creation of an additional statutory county court in
Brazoria County.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 25.0221, Government Code, is amended to
read as follows:
Sec. 25.0221. BRAZORIA COUNTY. Brazoria County has the
following statutory county courts:
(1) County Court at Law No. 1 and Probate Court of
Brazoria County;
(2) County Court at Law No. 2 and Probate Court of
Brazoria County; [and]
(3) County Court at Law No. 3 and Probate Court of
Brazoria County; and
(4) County Court at Law No. 4 and Probate Court of
Brazoria County.
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding Section 25.0221, Government
Code, as amended by this Act, the County Court at Law No. 4 and
Probate Court of Brazoria County is created January 1, 2007.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
