A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to supervision of a primary election by the county 
executive committee.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 31.092, Election Code, is amended by 
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
	(d)  In a contract authorized by Subsection (b), the county 
election officer may not prevent the county chair or the chair's 
designee from supervising the conduct of the primary election, 
including the tabulation of results, as required by Chapter 172.
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
