A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to child support.                                                    
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 154.011, Family Code, is amended to read 
as follows:     
	Sec. 154.011  SUPPORT NOT CONDITIONED ON POSSESSION OR 
ACCESS.  (1)  A court may not render an order that conditions the 
payment of child support on whether a managing conservator allows a 
possessory conservator to have possession of or access to a child.
	(2)  A court may alter a standard possession order if child 
support payments are more than 12 consecutive months in arrears.
	SECTION 2.  This act takes effect September 1, 2005.
