S.C.R. No. 26 




SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Legislature of the State of Texas is pleased to pay tribute to Petty Officer Third Class Troy Lowell Luce for his service to his country and his exemplary and heroic efforts in Iraq; and WHEREAS, Petty Officer Luce was born in Warsaw, Indiana; he graduated from Sharyland High School in Mission in 1990 and earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from The University of Texas--Pan American in 1994; and WHEREAS, He enlisted in the United States Navy seven years ago and has been on active duty for five years; he will complete his military service in February of 2006; and WHEREAS, He serves as a hospital corpsman with the 123rd Battalion and has been stationed in Spain and Arizona, at Al Asad Airfield, and in Haditha, Iraq; and WHEREAS, The Texas Legislature commends Troy for the courage and commitment he has shown by serving his country in a foreign land during a time of extreme danger; he is truly an inspiration to the citizens of his community and this state; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the 79th Legislature of the State of Texas hereby recognize Troy Lowell Luce as an American hero and extend sincere appreciation to him for his service to his country and best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for Petty Officer Luce as an expression of high regard from the Texas Legislature.
