SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 18
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Nevarro Dean Harris Daniels of Houston, who is being honored on January 21, 2005, for a lifetime of dedication to religious music ministry and service to others; and WHEREAS, Nevarro Daniels presently serves as the minister of music at Northside Missionary Baptist Church in Houston; she formerly served as a minister of music at churches in several East Texas communities; she established Nevarro's Music Studio to instruct students in music theory, voice, piano, and other instruments and to teach the art of music ministry; and WHEREAS, Dedicated to sharing her love of music with the public, Nevarro Daniels has organized and directed choirs for Juneteenth celebrations and other notable community events; she has taken her music to nursing homes, senior centers, and hospitals, and she has hosted gospel music workshops across our nation and overseas in Greece; and WHEREAS, Revered as a pillar in the Houston community for many years, Nevarro earned the "Kim Burrell & The Stars" Community Legend Award for her musical achievements and for her dedication, commitment, and service to mankind; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, hereby commend Nevarro Dean Harris Daniels for her many accomplishments in music and her service to others and extend to her best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
