SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 26
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Jen Ray for her outstanding service as senior director
of State Action at the Center for Policy Alternatives; and
WHEREAS, During Jen Ray's tenure as senior director of
State Action, the department has built and sustained a national
network of state legislators to lead progressive victories
across the states on a range of issues; and
WHEREAS, Prior to joining the Center for Policy
Alternatives, she served as executive director of the Idaho
Women's Network and the Idaho Women's Network Research and
Education Fund; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her 19 years of work with nonprofit
organizations, Jen Ray has directed numerous successful
state-organizing and legislative-lobbying campaigns on social
and economic issues impacting women and families; the issues have
included reproductive health and rights, the minimum wage,
tax fairness, domestic violence, and human rights; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary lady and a dedicated and effective
administrator, Jen Ray has held the admiration and respect of
her colleagues at the Center for Policy Alternatives, and her
presence as director of State Action will be greatly missed;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Jen Ray for her many accomplishments
as senior director of State Action at the Center for Policy
Alternatives and extend to her best wishes for the future at
National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) Pro-Choice
America; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
