SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 30
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
pay tribute to Sebron Oliver Brown on the grand occasion of his
70th birthday; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman and a well-known community
leader, Sebron Brown is a revered resident of Houston; and
WHEREAS, Sebron Brown was born January 29, 1935, in
Henderson, Texas; he has been blessed with three daughters,
and he has shared a loving marriage with Maudie Brown for
10 years; and
WHEREAS, He is now enjoying his retirement from his
position as a bus driver with the Houston Independent School
District; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Brown founded Southwest First Church of God in
Christ in Houston and has served as its pastor for 33 years; in
addition, he has served as superintendent of his denomination's
Southwest Houston District and of the Texas South Central
Jurisdiction; he is a member of the Houston Police Ministry
Against Crime; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby recognize Sebron Oliver Brown as a
treasured citizen of Houston and our state and extend to him
best wishes on the occasion of his 70th birthday; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as a memento of this special day.
