SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 33
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize A. Dwain Mayfield, who is retiring January 31 after many years of outstanding service to Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company in Fort Worth; and WHEREAS, As vice president of Lockheed Martin, Dwain Mayfield has been responsible for national and international campaigns for the company's aeronautical products and services; he most recently conducted a successful campaign to bring F-16 aircraft to the United Arab Emirates; and WHEREAS, Dwain Mayfield previously served as staff vice president for marketing and strategic planning, where his responsibilities included future planning, market analysis and development, and program definition; and WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas A&M University, Mr. Mayfield has served his alma mater on behalf of Lockheed Martin; he is a member of the advisory board for the dean of engineering and a member of the development board for the Bush School of Public Service and International Policy; he was instrumental in providing Lockheed Martin scholarships to Texas A&M University at Qatar in 2003 and 2004; and WHEREAS, A longtime loyal and effective leader for Lockheed Martin, Dwain Mayfield is held in high regard and admiration by all of his colleagues in the industry; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, hereby commend A. Dwain Mayfield on his many achievements and his contributions to Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company and extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
