SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 108
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Kilgore High School Bulldogs football team, which
recently won the Class 4A Division II state championship title; and
WHEREAS, The Kilgore Bulldogs won their first state
football title by defeating the Dallas Lincoln Tigers by a score
of 33-27 on December 18, 2004, in a double-overtime victory
before a crowd of 20,000 at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco; and
WHEREAS, These dedicated young athletes have demonstrated
great talent and skill throughout the school year, ending the
season with a perfect 16-0 record, and they can take pride in
their outstanding performance; and
WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of
head coach Mike Vallery and the coaching staff at Kilgore High
School, the Bulldogs have developed exceptional teamwork and
discipline; and
WHEREAS, Kilgore High School and the City of Kilgore are
proud of the Bulldogs for their hard work, their impressive
skills, and their fine sportsmanship; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend the Kilgore High School Bulldogs
for their successful season and congratulate them on winning the
Class 4A Division II state football championship; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
