SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 125
	WHEREAS, For eight years, Dr. Rodger A. Pool of Garland 
has served as an outstanding president of Eastfield College in 
Mesquite; and
	WHEREAS, Dr. Pool has worked as an administrator with the 
Dallas County Community College District for 32 years; generous 
with his time and talents, Dr. Pool is chair of the board of 
directors of the Garland Chamber of Commerce and co-chair of the 
Partners in Education Committee developed by the chamber and the 
Garland Independent School District to strengthen the ties 
between businesses and the district; and
	WHEREAS, This noteworthy gentleman is also a member of the 
board of directors of numerous organizations, including the 
Garland Independent School District's BEST Foundation, the
North Texas Community College Consortium, the Mesquite Economic 
Development Foundation board, and the Mesquite Community 
Hospital board; he was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa's Texas Hall 
of Honor for Presidents, and received the organization's
Shirley B. Gordon Award of Distinction; ever mindful of the youth 
of his community, he also serves as chair of the Gray Owl District 
of the Circle Ten Council of the Boy Scouts of America; and
	WHEREAS, After his tenure as president, Rodger Pool will 
take on new challenges as he continues his employment with the 
Dallas County Community College District; supported by his
loving wife, Carolyn, and his five children and three grandchildren,
he enjoys the admiration of friends and colleagues who appreciate 
his contributions to education in North Texas; now, therefore,
be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Rodger A. Pool for his 
notable contributions to Eastfield College and the Dallas County 
Community College District, and extend to him sincere best wishes 
for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be 
prepared for Dr. Pool as an expression of high regard by the
Texas Senate.
