SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 148

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased
to recognize Brenda Kaye Gullikson Piña after 30 years of 
outstanding service to the Office of the Comptroller of Public 
Accounts; and

	WHEREAS, In 1982, Brenda began working at the comptroller's 
office in Secretarial Services which is now called Document 
Processing Services; and

	WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, Brenda is noted for 
her diligence and professionalism and has earned the respect and 
admiration of her colleagues; and

	WHEREAS, After retirement Brenda will have ample time to 
enjoy her husband of 28 years, Robert "Bobber" Piña, and her 
children and grandchildren; she also plans to pursue her study
of Spanish; and

	WHEREAS, Brenda Piña's Yankton Sioux name is Ociciya kta wi,
meaning "I will help you," which exemplifies the conscientious 
dedication and efficiency she exhibited during her tenure at the 
comptroller's office, where her presence will be greatly missed; 
now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Brenda Kaye Gullikson Piña for 
her exceptional service to the people of Texas and extend best 
wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
