SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 162

	WHEREAS, David Robert Hays of Troop 399 in Austin has 
recently been honored by the Boy Scout program for attaining the 
rank of Eagle Scout; and

	WHEREAS, David planned, developed, and conducted a service 
project that has benefited his community by adding handrails to a 
bridge leading to the soccer fields on Town Lake, and he is 
recognized as an outstanding leader; and

	WHEREAS, David has brought great honor to himself in earning
the coveted Eagle Badge, and his family, his troop, his community,
and his state are justly proud of his great accomplishment; and

	WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and 
promise, this personable young man advanced through the ranks
of Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, and Life classes before 
reaching Eagle Scout; and

	WHEREAS, David has become one of the select few who have 
earned this prestigious honor, and he is a shining example to the 
young people of Texas; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas 
79th Legislature, hereby congratulate David Robert Hays on 
becoming an Eagle Scout and commend him on this great 
achievement; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
Eagle Scout Hays as an expression of high regard from the
Texas Senate.
