SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 183
In Memory
of
Julio Cesar Cisneros Alvarez
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas join the citizens
of South Texas in mourning the loss of Marine Corps Lance Corporal
Julio Cesar Cisneros Alvarez, who died January 6, 2005, at the
age of 22, while serving his country in Iraq; and
WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Cisneros Alvarez was born in
Reynosa, Mexico, and grew up in the Rio Grande Valley; he
graduated from Mission High School in 2000 and planned to become
a doctor; he worked as a nurse's assistant at the South Texas
Dialysis Center in Mission before joining the United States
Marine Corps on October 20, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Julio was a machine gunner assigned to the
1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment attached to the 31st Marine
Expeditionary Unit; he was deployed to Iraq in September, 2004,
and killed during hostile action in the Al Anbar province; and
WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Cisneros Alvarez was a brave and
courageous Marine, who sacrificed his life for his country; he
was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Sea Service
Deployment Ribbon, and the War on Terrorism Service Medal; and
WHEREAS, He was a devoted son and brother and a loyal
friend, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of
Lance Corporal Julio Cesar Cisneros Alvarez and extend sincere
condolences to his bereaved family: his mother, Senobia Alvarez;
his father, Julio Cisneros; and his brothers, Santos and Marcos;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
do so in memory of Lance Corporal Julio Cesar Cisneros Alvarez.
