SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 190
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Barbara McKensie, who is retiring from the Office of
the Comptroller of Public Accounts, Houston Northwest Office,
on February 28, 2005, after 25 years of loyal service; and
WHEREAS, Barbara McKensie began working with the
comptroller's office in field collections, where she set up
new taxpayers with permits and collected current and delinquent
taxes; and
WHEREAS, Her many responsibilities over the years included
training new employees and coordinating field operations for
delinquent taxpayer seizures, conducting taxpayer seminars, and
speaking to groups, such as accountants and new business owners;
she is concluding her career with the comptroller in the
Enforcement Call Center; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her career with the comptroller's
office, Barbara has demonstrated expertise in her field, and she
is widely recognized for her dedication and dependability; and
WHEREAS, She has long held the admiration and respect of
her colleagues and is being honored with a retirement dinner on
February 24; Barbara has been an exemplary employee, and her
presence in the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts
will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Barbara McKensie for her
exceptional service and her many contributions to our state and
extend to her best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
