SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 207

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Winston Ayala, who was recently named the Central 
Baseball League's General Manager of the Year; and
	WHEREAS, Winston Ayala has served as general manager of
the Edinburg Roadrunners for the past four years; under his 
leadership, the team has posted the league's best record
at 68-27, captured both the first-half and second-half West 
Division titles, and witnessed growing attendance by enthusiastic
fans at its games; in addition, the team defeated the Shreveport 
Sports on September 2 to win Central Baseball League's championship
title for the second time; and
	WHEREAS, Prior to working with the Roadrunners, Mr. Ayala 
worked for the Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Professional 
Hockey League; he helped the team to finish in the top five in 
average attendance for all North American minor-league hockey 
teams each year of his service; and
	WHEREAS, Winston Ayala is now in his 14th year in 
professional sports; he began his career in sports marketing 
while playing professional soccer with the Oklahoma City Slickers;
following his work with the Slickers he took a position on the 
Dallas Burn, a major-league soccer team; and
	WHEREAS, Winston Ayala is an exceptionally gifted baseball 
manager, and he has brought great credit to himself in guiding 
the Edinburg Roadrunners to the team's many triumphs on the 
playing field; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby congratulate Winston Ayala on his 
selection as the Central Baseball League's General Manager of the 
Year and extend to him best wishes for continued success in the 
future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
