SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 210
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the
citizens of Corpus Christi in honoring the nine Fuentes brothers
for their valorous service to the United States armed forces; and
WHEREAS, Eight of the Fuentes brothers, David, Ezequiel,
Richard, Ismael, Rudolfo, Alfonso, Enrique, and Marcos, served
in the United States Marine Corps, while Israel served in the
United States Air Force; and
WHEREAS, David was the first to enlist, followed by
Ezequiel; Israel and Richard followed and they both served tours
of duty in Vietnam; and
WHEREAS, Maintaining the family tradition, six of the
seven daughters of the Fuentes family married military men, and
many of their nephews are now serving in the military; and
WHEREAS, The Fuentes parents imparted the ideals of
liberty and freedom in their children, and the Fuentes brothers
are truly deserving of legislative recognition; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby honor the service of the Fuentes brothers
and commend them for their dedication to their country; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an
expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
