SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 238

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
join the citizens of Texas in recognizing February 28 through 
March 2, 2005, as Texas Technology Week at the Capitol; and
	WHEREAS, Technological advances have driven the Texas 
economy to new heights, and further development in technology 
will ensure that Texas remains at the forefront of research and 
innovation in a global economy; and
	WHEREAS, Texas is blessed with many fine organizations 
dedicated to the advancement of the high technology industry in 
Texas; among those supporting Texas Technology Week are the 
Metroplex Technology Business Council, the American Electronics 
Association, Technet Texas, and the Texas Healthcare and 
Bioscience Institute; and
	WHEREAS, Texas Technology Week includes the Texas 
Technology Summit, a program on innovation, investment, and 
productivity, and a reception featuring technological innovation 
exhibits; attendees will focus on expanding opportunities to 
advance technological development and technology businesses in 
the state; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend all those who have contributed 
to making Texas a world leader in the field of high technology and 
welcome those who are attending Texas Technology Week at the 
Capitol; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an 
expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
