SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 266
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Thomas John Malone, who is retiring from the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts on March 31, 2005, after 25 years of dedicated service to the state; and WHEREAS, Tom Malone began his career in the comptroller's office on February 4, 1980, in the Houston Enforcement Office; from September of 1984 through May of 1994, he held supervisory and management positions in the New York, Houston, and Austin audit offices; and WHEREAS, He managed the Tax Policy Division, Insurance Section, from May, 1994, through October, 1996, when he transferred to the Account Maintenance Division and supervised the File Maintenance Section; in August of 1999, he became supervisor of Franchise Tax, and in April of 2003, he joined the Revenue Accounting Division and served as its Bankruptcy Section supervisor; and WHEREAS, Throughout his career with the comptroller's office, Tom has demonstrated superior administrative skills and accounting expertise; a talented and resourceful individual, he has handled his many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication; and WHEREAS, Tom is an exemplary employee who is admired and respected by his colleagues, and his presence in the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, hereby commend Thomas John Malone for his exceptional service and his many contributions to our state and extend to him best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
