SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 329
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Gregorio "Greg" Flores III, a leading Texas citizen and 
director of Legislative Affairs for H. E. Butt Grocery Company; and
	WHEREAS, Greg has worked for more than six years at H-E-B, 
the state's largest private company and the number one retailer 
in the South Texas and Central Texas region; in addition to his 
legislative work for the company, he has directed regional public 
affairs functions for San Antonio, West Texas, and the border 
region; and
	WHEREAS, A native of San Antonio, Greg earned a
bachelor's degree from Harvard University and a master's
degree from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at
The University of Texas at Austin; he has been certified by the 
Management Development Program in Corporate Community Relations 
from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College; and
	WHEREAS, An active civic leader, he has served on the board 
of directors for numerous community organizations; he has served 
as chair of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Legislative Task 
Force in San Antonio, and he was appointed by Governor Rick Perry 
to serve as a commissioner on the OneStar National Service 
Commission; he is also a board member of the Salvation Army and 
KLRN Public Television, and he was recently named to the 
Leadership San Antonio 30 Class; and
	WHEREAS, Greg is widely respected for his service to his 
community and for his outstanding leadership in directing 
legislative and governmental affairs strategies on behalf of


H-E-B; as H-E-B celebrates its 100th anniversary, it is a fitting 
time to honor Greg for his accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby commend Gregorio Flores III for his many 
contributions to the San Antonio community and for his exemplary 
service on behalf of H. E. Butt Grocery Company; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
