SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 373

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
congratulate the Bayshore Medical Center of Pasadena for 
receiving the 2004 and 2005 HealthGrades Distinguished Hospital 
Award for Overall Clinical Excellence; and

	WHEREAS, Bayshore Medical Center was rated by HealthGrades 
as among the top five percent of all hospitals in the nation; 
HealthGrades is an award-winning rating service that grades the 
performance of most hospitals in the United States; and

	WHEREAS, Bayshore Medical Center also received a five-star 
rating in numerous service areas, including congestive heart 
failure care, back and neck surgery, and obstetric services; only 
15 percent of hospitals nationwide receive a coveted five-star 
rating; and

	WHEREAS, Bayshore Medical Center will soon expand its 
service with the establishment of satellite emergency care 
centers in Pasadena, Deer Park, and La Porte; and

	WHEREAS, Bayshore Medical Center is a vital part of the 
health care service and support system of this thriving community 
and it truly deserves legislative recognition; now, therefore, 
be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, hereby congratulate Bayshore Medical Center 
for receiving this notable award; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
Bayshore Medical Center as an expression of esteem from the
Texas Senate.
